Walmart Projects
Working with Walmart provided opportunities to lead challenging yet rewarding large-scale merchandising and retail projects. Twice each year, I traveled to Canada to coordinate the setup and sale of merchandise for major events. Months in advance, I partnered with leadership teams to select apparel, design merchandise concepts, determine decoration methods, oversee production, and UPC tag items before shipment to Canada.
In addition to the large Canada events, I led the setup of a physical employee store at the Walmart Canada headquarters, creating a retail experience for employees to shop company merchandise. I also coordinated employee stores in Bentonville for multiple Walmart divisions.
Pop-up shops became a highly successful initiative, and I managed the merchandise selection and setup for several of these events, including Walmart’s annual shareholders meeting. One of the largest projects I led supported Central America associates attending the shareholders event. Planning began each January for a May delivery timeline. The project included preparing 350–400 associate gift bags for employees traveling from Mexico to Bentonville for the event. My responsibilities included merchandise selection, decoration planning, sourcing products, coordinating production, and overseeing the packing and shipment of all items.
