Being born in a small town has its limitations. No art classes were ever offered throughout school, but that was my passion. Starting school at a junior college my career path was set and the art classes were endless. From painting, drawing and even sculpture I knew I had found my place. Soon after transferring to Southern Illinois Carbondale, my career path shifted from Fine Art to Communication Design, but I knew I could never leave Fine Art behind.

As stated before I’m from a small town, under 5,000 people, in Illinois. Coming from a small town and being an only child can be a struggle, but I have a very close family that is constantly supporting me. Being from a small town I’ve grown up with my best friends, so moving to Carbondale was a huge change for me. I left my friends and family to take on a new town, much larger than my hometown. However, moving to Carbondale has allowed me to further my education and become one step closer to my dream job. While at SIUC I plan to obtain a major in Liberal Arts specializing in Communication Design and two minors, Art History and Journalism.
